Recently, new information has come out regarding a devastating crash involving a tractor-trailer in Indiana County. The incident happened around 8 a.m. on Monday morning earlier this month. The truck was traveling along Route 22 and hauling heavy metal scrapings and battery strippings. According to responding Fire Department officials, the truck was traveling too fast. Police concluded that the truck driver failed to stop at a red light. He crossed into the intersection, swayed and overturned. The truck hit six other vehicles. Road crews needed to be brought to the scene of the accident to clean the mess before roadways could be opened again.

The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital. Responding police officers noticed that the driver had both constricted pupils and a low, raspy voice. When police found a smoking pipe and a suspicious substance in the pickup truck, the driver admitted to being under the influence of both heroin and marijuana while operating the motor vehicle. He is now facing criminal charges including reckless endangerment and DUI.
